Southern Company (NYSE: SO) was the center of some heavy options trading on Wednesday, as more than 96,500 contracts crossed the tape. What’s more, roughly 97% of the volume changed hands on the call side.

Lexington Realty Trust (NYSE: LXP), a real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on single-tenant real estate investments, announced today that its quarterly common share dividend in the amount of $0.18 per share to be paid on July 30, 2009 to common shareholders of record as of the close of business on June 30, 2009 will consist of approximately $1.96 million in cash (not including cash-in-lieu of fractional shares) and approximately 4.3 million common shares priced at $4.0737 per share. Holders of approximately 33.7 million common shares elected to receive the dividend in all common shares at a rate of approximately 0.04419 common shares per share. Holders of approximately 75.3 million common shares elected to receive the dividend in all cash or failed to make an election, and will receive approximately $0.0261 per share in cash (14.48%) and approximately $0.1539 per share in common shares (85.52%), or approximately 0.03779 common shares.
The Northrop Grumman Corporation-built (NYSE:NOC) amphibious transport dock ship New York (LPD 21) returned to the company’s Avondale shipyard in New Orleans July 23 flying three brooms signifying a successful U.S. Navy Acceptance Trials. The ship is the fifth in the San Antonio-class series that the Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding sector is building across the Gulf Coast.
Steelcase Inc. (NYSE:SCS), a global office environments manufacturer, today announced that it has won Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) for three of its products. Silver IDEAs were awarded to collaborative chairs cobi(tm) and i2i(tm), and a Bronze IDEA was awarded to Steelcase’s intuitive and ergonomically supportive task chair, Amia(r). The IDEAs, co-sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and BusinessWeek magazine, recognize products that exemplify design excellence.
American Italian Pasta Company (NASDAQ: AIPC), the largest producer of dry pasta in North America, today announced that it will host a conference call and live webcast, including a slide presentation, to discuss fiscal 2009 third quarter and year-to-date financial results. The call and webcast will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. Central Time (9:00 a.m. Eastern Time).
